Stomach Abs Workouts: Which Are Most Effective?
Although the 'abs' are only one of the eight major muscle groups in the human body, they are an essential part of a toned and sexy physique. Obtaining those well-sculpted 'abs', however, is no easy thing. Perfect 'abs' can only be obtained through good diet and a well-designed workout routine, but with a little guidance and commitment, anyone can achieve the 'abs' they desire.
A human's abdominal muscles are a series of complex muscle groups, the 'Rectus Abdominis', 'Transversis Abdominis', 'Internal Obliques' and 'External Obliques.' While their names are daunting, these muscle groups can be easily made prominent through a well designed workout regime and nutrition program. However, most people don't have a cluse about how to develop well defined 'abs.'
It might sound irritating but the fact is that doing hundreds of crunches daily might not help you achieve the required percentage of body fat that is crucial for getting toned 'abs'. Crunches and other stomach workouts will not help you develop washboard 'abs' if you do not lose excess fat. No one would give you washboard 'abs'; you will have to earn them with sheer hard work and proper nutrition.
In the quest to obtain perfect 'abs', the most important thing to do is to lose excess belly fat. The best way to lose excess belly fat is through cardio-exercises. These exercises include jogging, cycling, jump rope, and swimming, and are outstanding at helping you burn off excess fat. It's important to establish a daily exercise routine and stick to it. Hydration is also important when working on your 'abs', so remember to drink plenty of water.
Getting the best workout for your abs means training all the muscles in that area. There are four sections of abdominal muscles that need attention. By targeting your workout to each muscle area, you'll get better results than if you work all of the muscle parts simultaneously.
Building six pack abs involves very tough training. The following are considered common exercises for stomach abs: barbell rollouts, barbell side bends, leg pull-ins, bent-knee hip raises, crunches (oblique and cable) and abdominal sit-ups. Leg raises and oblique decline crunches are among the best stomach abs exercises.
Our body has got eight muscle groups: chest, biceps, triceps, back, shoulders, legs, hips and abdominal muscles. There is no quick way to get razor sharp 'abs'? Drink plenty of water to keep those abdominals in good shape. But most important, you need to loose that belly fat to get those washboard 'abs'. There are four major parts to our abdominal muscles. It is necessary to train those four parts daily to obtain the most effective stomach abs workouts. Performing solitary exercises for abdominal muscles are far better than performing compound exercises. If you want 'six pack abs' it is important to prepare for some hard core training.
